Marylouise Welch, RN, Ph.D. received her diploma from Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing, BD from the University of Pennsylvania, MS from the University of Connecticut, an Ph.D. in Medical Anthropology from the University of Connecticut. She is currently an Associate Professor at Saint Joseph College where she has taught for the past twenty years. The philosophy of the Saint Joseph College of Nursing is based on the writings of Florence Nightingale. Dr. Welch has published several articles on Nightingale’s contributions to the discipline of nursing.
